KITRAC Engineering Solutions was awarded the full electrical contract for the Brite Spark Office Complex — a five-storey commercial building in Mombasa's Central Business District. The scope covered everything from initial design and load calculations through to final commissioning and Kenya Power connection.
The project included the installation of a 400A main distribution board, floor sub-distribution boards on every level, structured wiring for voice and data, emergency lighting and fire alarm integration, and a rooftop solar-ready conduit system for future expansion. All works were completed to Kenya Power standards and NCA regulations.
The building now houses over 20 business tenants and benefits from a smart metering system that enables accurate sub-billing, reducing landlord energy costs by approximately 18% compared to the previous building on the site.
Full LV distribution system — 400A MDB, 5× floor SDBs, and final sub-circuits to every office unit including dedicated MCB protection per tenant.
Integrated fire alarm, emergency lighting, and exit signage system wired to a central addressable panel on the ground floor.
Structured cabling — CAT6 data points and telephone outlets in every office suite, complete with a comms room rack and patch panel installation.
Solar-ready conduit and busway provisions on the rooftop for a planned 30 kW on-grid system, designed and cabled in advance for zero disruption on future fit-out.
Project completed on schedule and passed Kenya Power inspection first time, with the EPRA installation certificate issued within two weeks of completion.
